What precautions should be taken when using URGO Contactless Thermometer?
- This device is not a substitute for a doctor's visit or medical diagnosis. Do not rely solely on the measured temperature, the patient's symptoms and feelings must be taken into account.
- After heating an object in the microwave, please pay attention to the risk of burns, the surface of the object may indicate a lower temperature than that in the object.
- Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
- Do not use this appliance if you suspect it is damaged or if you have noticed something abnormal.
- The device is not waterproof – Do not immerse it in water or any other liquid.
- Keep the appliance out of the reach of children to prevent them from swallowing the batteries or the battery compartment cover.
- The device must not be opened, dismantled or modified under any circumstances.
- Before use, the device must be adjusted to room temperature (i.e. room temperature). In the event of a temperature change, e.g. due to a temperature difference between the storage location of the device and the place of use of the device, it is necessary to wait at least 30 minutes before use so that the device can adjust stably to the room temperature.
- Dirt on the infra-red sensor should be gently removed with a dry cloth or cotton swab. For sensor cleaning, do not use a tissue or paper towel.
- Water, other surface liquids (e.g. sweat) or condensation can hinder infrared measurements.
- Do not use the thermometer immediately after the following:
> Eating or drinking
> Have exercised
> Breastfeeding a baby

- For cleaning, use a dressing or cotton cloth moistened with alcohol (70% isopropanol).
- Allow the thermometer to dry completely before use.

- The URGO contactless thermometer contains highly sensitive electronic components. Stored in a dry place, free from direct sunlight, and protected from shocks and vibrations.
- Avoid storage in damp conditions or near a heat source.

Why is URGO contactless thermometer contraindicated for children under 2 years of age?
This contraindication is based on a recommendation from the French National Authority for Health (HAS) on measuring children's temperature.
As the reference method for measuring body temperature in young children is the flexible rectal electronic thermometer, use of this thermometer is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
